Specifically, Kirsten Kennis claims that the band forged a signature in order to use her picture as the album art for the chart-topping record, and subsequently is suing Vampire Weekend.
The band got the picture from photographer Tod Brody, and were immediately struck by the mysteriousness of it. They thought the picture went in perfect sequence with their last album cover: a grainy image of a room filled with people, however none of their faces are shown. According to Kirsten Kennis, however, she had no idea that Tod Brody was using her picture.
The band has made very few statements about the lawsuit, so we will all just wait and see how it plays out.
